Why “Speak Up!”?

Adolescence is difficult. Young people are becoming more aware of themselves and how they fit into this world. There are huge physical, psychological, and emotional changes taking place, and this is a time in which young people need to feel supported and connected to their peers, and their world.

“Speak Up!” gives students the confidence to express themselves honestly in front of each other, without the fear of judgement, and helps them develop a deeper empathy for others.

Adolescence is also a time in which divisions are made because of status, socio-economics, and cultural differences. “Speak Up!” encourages students to take pride in themselves and respect the unique individuality of others.

Anxiety, depression, and other mental health issues are on the rise. Students need a way of expressing themselves, and a means of connecting with each other.

“Speak Up!” is the solution!
