Hydeia Muhammad is a professional Ballroom & Latin dance instructor and owner of Dansé Ballroom, a mobile dance business. She has over 20 years of dance and musical theatre training and experience, and specializes in numerous genres of dance. She has won numerous competitions both as an amateur and a professional. Her strong belief that anyone is capable of dancing has led to her creation of The Blind Dance Company.

The Blind Dance Company (BDC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering the lives of the visually impaired through the art of dance. In doing so the BDC provides employment opportunities within the entertainment industry for the underserved blind community. Statistics show out of the 285 million visually impaired, 90% of them live in low income settings.

Since 2017, the BDC has been featured on multiple media outlets including national CBS News, iHeartRadio, LA Daily, NBC California Live and more!

The Blind Dance Co. specializes in numerous genres of dance (including ballroom, hip hop, salsa and more) and is dedicated to providing quality and unique performances and appearances, all while breaking societal barriers. The BDC motto is, “Think It, Do It, Become It!”
